Wondering if prepu is a waste of time

Nursing Students NCLEX

Hello,

My school required us to use prepu and do so many questions to graduate. I take the nclex in a few days and I've alternated between prepu, flash cards from the study guide as well as other nclex books. I'm getting a ton of repeat questions (I think I've seen the one on what to do if a patient has a reaction to a blood transfusion at least 50 times now) can anyone who has used this program tell me if the questions are like nclex at all? I'm nervous and don't know what to expect any advice on where I can find the best nclex style questions online (hopefully free) would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Hi, I subscribe for the Prep U (Nclex 10,000) Question a Day in my email and I notice that most content or basic level questions are taken from Lippincot NCELX Q &A book.

With regards to the repetitive questions in Prep u, it was reviewed in Amazon that its normal in the software and not necessary a glitch.

PrepU is basically a digital version of Lipincott's book but I found it helpful until I hit level 5 or 6 and then it was repeats galore. The leveling system is also flawed because if you open up a new category, your leveling score goes down.

I found it good if I wanted to concentrate on just one area but once I hit those repeat questions, then it became a game of memorization.

PrepU questions overall are easier then the nclex since they don't have as much higher level thinking questions. It's great review but a lot of questions, I felt, were content based.

See if you could subscribe to the ncbsn questions or the Kaplan nclex test bank. Those are more on par with the nclex.
