Took nclex this morning got to 176 question and ran out time

Nursing Students NCLEX

Hi, I took my nclex pn exam this morning at 8 got up to 176 question and I ran out of time. I am so heart broken because this is my second time taking the test. I used Saunders 4th edition, Kaplan qbank plus Kaplan course book, and also exam cram. I tried the Pearson vue trick and its going straight to cc page. I really don't know what to expect. I am just so upset with myself. Please let me know if anyone tried the trick and it didn't work ?

Stay positive hun! I hope u pass! Did the Kaplan qbank help, I'm debating on doin it a well

I hated Kaplan! Or I should say I hate it now. I failed my first time after using Kaplan as my main study resource. It didn't help and wasn't for me. The second time I used Hursts review, took a course called "ready to pass" and studied from their book, studied from a priority/delegation book (PDA by LaCharity), and nclex 3500. I got the cc page my first time and the "good pop up" my second time. Good luck!! If you need some more suggestions just message my inbox :)!! Good luck!!!

Thank you for the positive feedback but kaplan wasn't that big of a help to me. I really recommend Saunders I didn't look at it till towards end I wish I would have use this to study rather than kaplan course book but I do like the decision tree by kaplan

I feel the same way about kaplan it really didn't prepare me. I utilize it because it came with the program. Now I am looking into hurst review it's just expensive but seem worth it and thanks so much ill let you guys know what happen

Specializes in none.

I know how you feel I failed the first time and felt like a complete failure and I was bummed out for a long time but if you made it through nursing school you can definitely make it through the nclex! What I did to pass is I invested in these three things 1.Saunders book 2. Online Hurst Review 3. iPhone NCLEX apps I made a calendar and dedicated a few hours a day (Mon-Friday) to reading and studying. The Hurst Review is really neat because it made learning somewhat fun so it sticks with you. As for the NCLEX apps this was convenient during times I couldn't really prop out my big ol Saunders book like during traffic, waiting at the doctors office etc. this is what I did and passed the second time so its not the end of the world, you just have to really dedicate time. Good luck!
