Took my NCLEX today, stopped at 160ish questions, just need to vent.

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hey everyone. Long time lurker, first time poster, looking to vent. I finally took my NCLEX today after a long period of time after graduating (which I did in December of 2014) due to a traumatic accident which had me in and out of the hospital for a couple of months and severe complications which pretty much incapacitated me for a period of time. I don't think I've ever been more nervous in my life honestly after my screen went blue after finishing 160 questions, and that's saying something because I have generalized anxiety disorder. My ATI comp predictor was 97%, but I feel like s*** now, to be frank. I have my dream job in the ER waiting on me that has been patient through this whole process, but I really don't think they'd wait any longer if I failed. I did very well in school and worked hard as an STNA in the ER to get them to keep me on as a nurse. Did any of you feel very confident after getting out of the NCLEX? Sorry if I'm rambling, I am kind of all over the place.

I felt awful after getting out. The good thing is that the NCLEX tries to get you to the point where you have a 50/50 chance of getting the questions right. So, if you felt like you were guessing on every other one towards the end, that could be why. Sounds like you were prepared, though! Good luck! Let us know! :)

I took the NCLEX yesterday and left feeling awful, like I completely bombed it. I was told over and over again from others that it's normal to feel like you didn't do well afterwards. It could be a good sign. If you're getting harder questions, then you're doing something right! Anyway, I found out today that I passed! So, don't feel bad. It's totally normal to feel like you didn't pass when it's over.

Well, all that worrying for nothing. I PASSED!!!!

Well, all that worrying for nothing. I PASSED!!!!

Congrats! I was about to write that nearly everyone walks out of the testing center stunned and quite certain they failed. Some are certain to the point that they cry and begin studying again! Yet....most do pass.

:)

Just got out of the NCLEX, and am feeling quite awful. I came home and just bawled. I got ~160 questions, and even thought I had meticulously prepared and done everything Kaplan had suggested and was scoring well on all of their practice exams, I feel like I failed NCLEX. I kept getting questions that had topics that I had never heard of. I had a ton of priority questions, a tons of SATAs, and a bunch of meds that I had never heard of. I was in the top of my class in nursing school, and I literally can't believe how hard that test was. I'm sure I failed.
