Time is finally here

Well the time is finally here for me to take my NCLEX. I take it on Monday and am freaking out (like everyone else is I am sure). I was never an A/B student in theory (although always had A's in clinical) so it makes me nervous going into this test. I graduated mid December and just got our ATT about a week ago so scheduled as soon as I could. I have a job lined up starting in February, contingent of my passing of course. (NO PRESSURE, RIGHT?!)

For preparation I have been doing UWORLD questions for about a month and have about 400 left which I plan to finish this weekend before the test. My average on UWORLD is 61%. I also took Hurst (twice) and have been studying the book and watching videos. I have taken 4 of their tests and averaging about 80/125 questions correct.

I feel I have prepared about as much as I can while working full time since graduating and am just hoping for the best! Wish my luck :) Any kind words of encouragement or advice is greatly appreciated.

I was under the same exact pressure you were, regarding the position! You will be FINE! I know it. Just do your questions and relax.

Hi futurenurse1211! I know how stressed out you are, but remember to be confident. I took my NCLEX on the 15th and passed it. I took my time and read the questions twice like if I was doing uworld questions and did 75 questions in two hours. Remember there's no rush.

I did use uworld as my primary study aid. I averaged 59% overall on uworld, but my qbanks were averaging around mid 60s-low 70s the week before my exam. I reviewed my rationales from all the questions I did calmly and I also reviewed all of my lab values the week before.

I know now I sound like a hypocrite to say to be confident when before and during the test I was nauseous and probably threw up in my mouth a little (lucky two bland pieces of toast is a safe breakfast), I took a deep breath and closed my eyes several times before I would start to read the next question and remind myself that I can pass this test. So remember to rest tomorrow, repeat your mantra of "I can do this" and keep us updated!

So I took the test yesterday, shut off at 75 questions! EEKKK, so we will see!

Good luck, keep us posted... I'm testing tomorrow; have one more HURST quiz to do (my average is 81), did UWorld (64th percentile right now) and went through rationales and am now making quizzes from the questions that I missed the first go-around. What do y'all think? Will I be okay..? Definitely not feeling prepared, but do you ever..?! haha.
