Those who took NCLEX RN recently

I took the Kaplan course and passed. So I cannot speak for the others. The exam was HARD. I felt like there was no way that I passed. My exam dumped me out at 105 questions. But I guess Kaplan's decision tree technique was successful.

I personally think it's Saunders. The test was hard. You have to really know the core content to pass the exam, in my opinion. I did 100+ questions everyday for at least 2 months and reviewed the Saunders book for that amount of time. I managed to passed the exam at 78 questions.

I am doing Saunders book now. how was your exam result ? when I am doing the exam , every time I am getting 60-70. I can't pass 70.i am worried now. please advice me.

you cannot rely on using only one review book. while studying I used Saunders Q&A and Exam Cram Q&A. also, if it's in your budget.. I would take advantage of Hurst Review. they provide I believe 6 CAT when you finish the entire review. remember, you can only do well when you are so familiar with your foundations of nursing to the point you are dreaming about it. good luck.

I did the study mode questions on the CD, but I only did the Application/Analysis questions + the alternative types questions. I think I was averaging in the 70-80's. I also did some questions on La Charity. Didn't have time to finish it though. I studied all the chapters in the Saunders book for at least 2 months. Just go over it slowly and try to understand the concepts.

For example: Name of Disease/Disorder -- Signs/Symptoms --- Diagnostic Test, if applicable --- Nrsg Care

This is the structure I followed, and it worked for me. For drugs, try to study them along with the system. It's easier to correlate them together that way. For example: Cardiovascular diseases/disorders --- Cardiac Meds, etc...

I used Saunders and NCSBN, and reviewed LaCharity. I found NCLEX to be similar to both Saunders and NCSBN, which makes sense as the latter writes the exam.

Well, I guess I'm the odd ball here. I passed NCLEX with 122 questions.

It looked like Kaplan to me except the questions and answers were more straight forward. The questions were still hard though but doable.

I took the exam today. The screen shut off after 85 questions, and I am getting the good pop up so far. My school made us purchase the virtual ATI program. We had to complete some of the exams before graduating. I did not use ATI at all after graduating. I decided to use Kaplan and am very glad I did. I thought the exam was difficult, but not as difficult or wordy as Kaplan. You will do great with the resources that you are currently using. After you get the content down review ALL of the Kaplan videos, QBank, and Sample questions. The 35 page guide floating around here was super helpful as well. Good luck!! :)
