Taking Nclex after 2 years and 8 trys

I would suggest doing a review... Perhaps Kaplan, Hurst, or even both

Hurst it didn't help me when I took the board multiple times. My advise either Saunders book or lippinicott Q&A book has content with great questions. Don't spend your money on Review courses. There's also program has great high level questions such as U world and PDA book for prioritization. There's a phone app called nclex rn mastery app if you want do questions while your laying in bed..

I have tried Kaplan review x2 but needed information on best study book now and was considering Hurst review. I know alot of people will post maybe going back to school is the "best" thing or trying a new field. Im not giving up! Im currently a certified medical assistant and keep my skills and knowledge up. I am basically performing everything an LPN does in my job except starting an IV. Our state is slowly doing away with LPNs. I've worked in the medical field for 15 years. I have very bad test anxiety. For those of you that think the Nclex makes you a nurse, its your skills and knowledge yes but this test or any test does not determine how smart you are ! Sorry but a good nurse is one that has skills and knowledge. I've worked with many that are not so smart but book smart yes and when it comes to running a code or emergency situation do they really know how to critically think!

I liked Hurst for content review and Kaplan for questions. I also did the NCSBN review but I wouldn't do that one again. I spent majority of my time focusing on understanding content instead of practicing questions. I read through the Saunders Comprehensive Review several times and that helped me with content so I could better approach questions. Whenever I did do questions, I used Lippincott's Q&A Review for NCLEX; this resource contains 6,000 NCLEX style questions to practice with rationales provided. I also used LaCharity's Prioritization, delegation, and assignment book to practice questions. This is a great tool used to prepare for higher level delegation/priority type questions. I also found this pdf NCLEX study guide on allnurses (https://allnurses.com/nclex-discussion-forum/nclex-study-guide-622449.html). I found it to be helpful when I was studying.

I wish you well on your studying. While I've never been a fan of standardized tests, the NCLEX is a necessary hurdle to gain entry into the nursing profession. I know plenty of nurses that have taken the NCLEX multiple times and are one of the best/skilled nurses on the floor. Don't get discouraged. You can do this. Always believe in yourself. Also, I'm a strong proponent of prayer.... pray as if everything is up to God, but work/prepare as if everything is up to you.

I would recommend Uworld and lippincott q&a is also good with explaining rationals. It's like learning content

I used nclex mastery app, exam cram and Lippincott's Q&A Review. Try to focus more on the doing questions rather than the content.

I had bad anxjety too I failed in 2014. Before I went to the exam I listened to guided meditation on youtube in my car to calm my nerves which might sound crazy but I think it helped! I passed in 75.

Did you take any breaks during your exams? Sometimes it helps to take a moment and breathe.

Just try not to over think the questions, eliminate everything you can before you make an answer choice!
