  1. I have tried Kaplan review x2 but needed information on best study book now and was considering Hurst review. I know alot of people will post maybe going back to school is the "best" thing or trying a new field. Im not giving up! Im currently a certified medical assistant and keep my skills and knowledge up. I am basically performing everything an LPN does in my job except starting an IV. Our state is slowly doing away with LPNs. I've worked in the medical field for 15 years. I have very bad test anxiety. For those of you that think the Nclex makes you a nurse, its your skills and knowledge yes but this test or any test does not determine how smart you are ! Sorry but a good nurse is one that has skills and knowledge. I've worked with many that are not so smart but book smart yes and when it comes to running a code or emergency situation do they really know how to critically think!
  2. Any study material to help with preparing for this after 8 attempts . Last time was 2 years ago. Im working Urgentcare as a certified medical assistant for last 4 years. It is time to move forward!
  3. I also graduated 7yrs ago and have not yet passed NCLEX. Thank you for your thoughts and ideas on how you did it. I have all of these books except Lacharity. I have 4th edition of Suanders, Kaplan 2010, and Exam Cram 2009-2010. I visit allnurses.com daily and it gives me great hope to pass. I plan to re-take before Christmas. I just need to focus and dedicate everyday to studying. I know I will do it this next time.
  4. This is inspirational to hear because I have also tried in the last two years, six times. I have been to Kaplan reviews twice and ATI plus the Kaplan online. I also took a six week short review course this summer at my school I graduated from. I am trying not to give up but it is really hard for me to move forward with my recent attempt of the NCLEX a week ago. I can re-test in 45 days. I am currently not working so will have to work really hard everyday for the next six weeks. I have Saunders Review CD, ATI Content Review Book, Exam Cram, 3500 Review Book. What more can I possibly do? I had all 265 qts last two times. Please help if anyone cares!!
  5. That is the most awesome message and I am truly happy for YOu:yeah::clown: I will be taking my test for the 6th time and graduated 2003. Please keep me in your thoughts. I am really wanting this to really happen. I have done ATI class in May and Kaplan 3 times in the last 3 years. I have Suzanne's plan but haven't followed it. I am in a review Nclex class through my school i graduated from. I have my test date scheduled exactly a month from now. I will not give up!!
  6. Would like to know how you finally did? I will be attempting my fifth time and I am frekaing out again. Plz help...
  7. Did you pass? I'm hoping you did and thanks for your info. I will be taking my test in august for the 5th time in 6 years. I have spent lots of money in review classes etc.
  8. Don't give up. You worked too hard for this. I have taken my NCLEX 4 times for my RN. I just keep my head up and keep trying. Don't worry what other people think right now. I went up in my scores every time and this last time did 265. There are people who make A's in school but have poor nursing skills and fail the NCLEX. I have to take a refresher course in my state. The BON only allows you to faill three times in one year. I have taken KAPLAN for theory and now have to do clinical hours. Then I can apply again. This really sucks!! Try to take your NCLEX again right away. Take Care........
  9. Thank you for the information. I have taken KAPLAN and needed this refresher. Have you used the CD with questions that come with the book for KAPLAN course?
  10. Thank you for your words of encouragement. We will both get through this. I will not give up because this is my calling and have worked too hard. We all have learning styles like you say and sometimes life takes a lot perserverence and determination to complete certain journeys. I wish you the best likewise and please keep me posted. I will be testing in May. I have the book and will be PM to Suzanne's plan soon. Take Care, blsolano
  11. Are you in the military as well? Did they offer a sign on bonus? I was interested in working for a VA hospital also Thanks....
  12. Thank you for your words on encouragement.... I am so happy to find other people to share my feelings of dispair. I'm not going to give up after failing three times in the past four years. Thanks..:wink2:
  13. I would also like to try suzanne's plan. Please keep me posted how it is working for you. Hang in there......
  14. Thank you for your messsage. I feel the same way as you described. Every time it's made me stronger and stronger. I will not give up and I will keep trying. It is very frustrating but I will keep a positive attitude. I have a lot of support with my fellow co-workers. We will perserver and keep marching! Keep studying and praying......
  15. I am taking my boards in March and would like to join the Airforce Reserves and i am 42 years old and healthy but should weight 20lbs less although. Is there a chance to join? I would go in as an RN is all works out well and I pass my boards. Can you tell me if this is possible. I've heard of a waiver. Thanks....
