studying when you already studied too much

Hey Fellow NCLEXers!

I was looking for advice on how I should study because I am having difficulty with planning it. I will take the NCLEX January 11, 2010. (about 2 weeks away)

I already took the comprehensive ATI and got a 99% confidence that Ill pass the NCLEX

I also have already done 4,000 NCLEX questions using Saunders, Mosbys, Kaplan, and ATI

So now that the date of the exam is nearing and I have scored so high on the predictive exams, Im kinda feeling like I dont know what I should focus my energy on. Should I focus on reviewing content (since I havent done all too much of that so far) or go back to doing questions? I feel like alot of the Saunders questions are starting to repeat and I want to save Kaplan for right before.

What is your advice?

I know some people will say do not review content and just do practice questions, but I did review some content. I went over some basic stuff...like drug endings (ACE is pril, beta blockers are olol, etc) and the common side effects for the classes of drugs. I also reviewed common things to look for with endocrine disorders (who may have altered labs like high potassium and symptoms/characteristics with each disorder) and infection control stuff (which ones are airborne, contact, droplet and what to wear with each). My thought on it was I might have 10 questions on my practice questions about TB or diabetes, but I might get RSV or Cushings on my NCLEX.

I also went over some maternity stuff because it was 2nd semester for us and had been a while since I had it. I am glad I did because I had 2 questions about mother/baby that I had reviewed and it did NOT come up when I was doing practice questions. So I recommend looking back to the courses you had earlier in your program and review that a little.

I passed with 75 questions on the first try. I do not regret going over content because I think there were several questions that I knew because of my content review.

The final 2 weeks before my NCLEX I just did review questions. It was my comfort zone. Like a security blanket.
