Saunders Comprehensive Review 5th edition

Nursing Students NCLEX

hello, everyone!

i'm jenny & i recently graduated from nursing school on may 19th. i plan to take the nclex as soon as possible, but i am still waiting for my att :)

anyway, i purchased the $250 (ouch!) virtual ati program and have been doing this for about 2 weeks. i also downloaded the saunders comprehensive review 5th edition. does anyone have any experience with this?? i feel like the saunders questions are a lot easier than the ati questions... or maybe i feel less pressure since i don't have someone scoring me and timing me....

any input on the saunders program would be fabulous, especially from those that used it and took the nclex.

did you notice the questions on the nclex were similar to saunders?

and what about those of you using ati.... same question, nclex similar?

hey jenny,

i just graduated from nursing school also, so i haven't taken the nclex yet. however, i also bought saunders during nursing school. i am taking the kaplan review course now and our instructor has warned us many times that the saunders questions are a lot easier than others and she recommended not relying on them for your nclex preparation because a lot of her past students who did failed because they weren't passing level questions.

no clue yet if this is true but just wanted to share the info i've gotten! good luck!

I just graduated on May 12, our school requires us to take the Virtual ATI during our last semester. ATI is the only study tool I used and I take the NCLEX-RN tomorrow morning. Hoping it did the trick:bugeyes:, will let you know

I also used to Saunders when I was reviewing for my nclex exam. And I love it! It's concise and easy to understand. I literally took time to read the whole book cover to cover (took me 1.5 months) and I don't regret it. The downpart is the questions in Saunders were mostly knowledge-type-level of questions and in nclex, in order for you to pass, you need to answer harder/higher level questions - analyzing and evaluating kind of questions. But I still answered saunders questions, most especially SATA which is very helpful to me. Then, I used other sources like Kaplan QT's, Exam Cram, etc. to have more practice.

As for the ATI, I only had the one as iphone app, which is very helpful to me as well, esp when I'm on the go. Good luck on your studies. :)

Hello, I also graduated this month. We took the ATI while in school and I always thought the questions were much harder. I am also using Saunders to study, the questions are a little easier but the rationales are great for studying. GOOD LUCK

Thanks everyone! =)

We also took ATI during school, at the end of each semester. The director of our program said "ATI, ATI, ATI...NCLEX"....So, that's why I decided the $250 was worth it.

I have to agree that Saunders seems very easy compared to ATI so I'm glad that others agree with me =)

Studystack.com has been a life saver, too.
