Passed NCLEX 3/15/14. Here's my advice

Nursing Students NCLEX

I'm from CA and took the NCLEX 3/15 on a saturday, learned I passed on Tuesday morning, received my physical license by Thursday evening. There is a complete mess with the whole Breeze system here in CA and I was extremely fortunate. When I received my att I decided to schedule my test two weeks away. I wasn't sure if that would be enough time to prepare but looking back 2 weeks was more than enough. For those stressing out don't be. It was a minimal competency test and felt like it. My best test taking advice would be to spend as much time as you need on the first 10-20 questions in order to get yourself as far from the line of competence as possible.

Studying advice: I used just about everything and for this year's particular NCLEX I would say hands down that NCSBN learning extension and the LaCharity book most closely resemble the questions on the NCLEX. Kaplan was so in depth that it was irrelevant, as was Lippencott.

I barely reviewed any content but when I did review I used Saunders which I noted to be similar to NCLEX as well, just not as much as NCSBN and LaCharity.

If you could only get one book I would highly recommend LaCharity. I honestly feel that if I had done nothing else besides LaCharity I would still have passed.

So there's my two cents. I hope some of you find it helpful. Relax and good luck!

Congrats MJC...........
