Need encouragment for NCLEX. Graduated 10 years ago :(

    Hi everyone!

I came to the point that I started to give up and decided to ask for help here.

Graduated almost 10 years ago, IEN, scheduled for NCLEX on May 21st. Completely forgot the content Trying to study, but it's hard when you are working full-time and have 3 kids at home.
I started to study around 1 month ago, for now did 3 exams from Kaplan Q-trainer - 56%, 52% and 52%.

Studying by Saunders mostly (book and CD with questions), doing Lippincott 3500, Mosby's book for Q&A and planning to take Kaplan Qbank in 20 days to finish them until my exam.
What do you think? Do i have some chance of passing, if I can study objectively no more than 3 hours per day?
May be I'm doing something wrong in my studies and you could give some useful hints?

Hello there! I feel your frustration. I myself, graduated 6 years ago, with work and little time to study, I am having a hard time getting back on my Nursing prep for NCLEX. I already took the neclex and i failed twice already, and now I am having a hard time getting back the confidence that I can still do it again. Honestly, I remember very little about nursing , so I am starting to encourage and motivate myself to study and get back on track.

My kaplan scores were very slow at the beginning. I dont think i ever go better than 70 and that was towards the end. I studied for 3 months and graduated in -2/2012 passed 75 questions

Don't give up! I am a foreign graduate, finished BSN in 2007, took NCLEX this March passed it the first time. Don't let those scores get you down, learn from the rationales whether you get the answer right or wrong.I also thought I've forgotten everything I've learned from nursing school but when i regularly reviewed, it all came back to me. Trust yourself and the education you got that you will pass this exam.

JUST DO IT!!!! I graduated 16 years ago, passed last month on the 28th. I work full time and have 4 children. I found iPhone apps very helpful. NCLEX QB is great because it has a lot of SATA which I hated!! It's not easy but it is worth it! You can do it!

Do not give up, I suggest using Hurst Review, you can take it online at your own pace if you are pressed for time. Look into it, this is what our school uses, they decided to switch it up one year and brought another company in and our pass rate fell from 98% to around 87%. The next year they brought Hurst back and the rate has been back up to 90 something percent each time.

You can do it, i dont know how much free time you have but NCSBN has a good review, very detailed with a good timeline to follow with the material. It will refresh everything. If you are working and pretty busy, get the 15week course. I think it comes in courses for 5, 10 , and 15 weeks. The conent is all the same, but the time varies. I pushes you to study and read everyday, cause when the time expires... Thats it. I also copied and pasted on word some of their material that i wanted to go back and review. Also i tried the Prep-U 10,000 NCLEX, which is and adaptive program that test in all the areas you need, with all the alternate formats. It was very helpful, cause it gives you harder questions once you get the previous one right, just like NCLEX. Hope this helps you. :-)
