NCLEX yesterday...

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

Congrats! And now you know, firsthand, that the number of questions, the type of questions, the format they are in, how you FELT about it later...NONE of that meant a gosh-darned thing, LOL...you PASSED!

Congrats! That is so exciting! What would you say most of the questions were focused on? Fundamentals? Or more specific diseases and s/s? Also, what were the medication questions like? Common ones, or difficult rare ones? Any advice you have is greatly appreciated.. With my test date approaching, I am having a mild panic attack over here haha.

If this helps any, you should remember that the test anyone sees is going to be different than yours. The design of the exam is that you receive questions in each of the domains of knowledge until you have satisfied the competency threshold. IOW, if you are weak in a given area, you will continue to see more and more of those questions that test that area, until you are deemed competent in that area.

A person who is weak on OB will tell us that they saw a ridiculous number of OB questions.....those who struggle with medications will seemingly be hammered with them until they get where they need to be (above passing) to stop that particular madness.

YOUR test will find out your weak areas, and pick at them until you beat it back into submission

This is where being a Jack of All Trades is a good thing :)

No, not a myth, because that IS how the test works. However, there is definitely truth to the idea that if you are uncertain about a topic, you will tend to "see" it more than it might really be there. To that end, I suppose it would be reasonable to say that you should expect to answer as many questions as the CAT deems necessary in order to prove your competency in that area.

If you're sweating out questions because you are weak in that area, you aren't likely to care exactly how many there are, there are just going to feel like "A LOT" on your exam, know what I mean?
