NCLEX TODAY..265 Questions... GOOD POP UP!!!

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

So... i am a 2nd time taker for the NCLEX. I graduated in April of 2016

- 1st attempt on the 23rd of June of 2016 (Thursday),

- 2nd time was TODAY on the 8th of October 2016 (Saturday).

1st attempt:

* I had 200 questions (took 1 break...towards the beginning)

* I used MULTIPLE study sources (Kaplan qbank, some of the Hurst review ONLINE, Lacharity leadership book, and Saunders).

* I studied every single source for those 2 months... but not as much as I could of. I figured because I just graduated from school... that the info would stick with me. NOPE.

* The week of my test, i studied like 3-4 hours in a day.. due to the fact that I work nights at a hospital.. (12hourshifts)...didn't really put in the time needed to focus on my studying because of work. More study time, no money -> can't pay bills. More work time, can't study-> can't pass NCLEX. That is what I was juggling. :sarcastic:

* Past test takes say that the day before the test you shouldn't study...so i did JUST that.. i didn't study. I went to the beach... and just relaxed. I also went to the testing site to make sure I knew where it was.

* TEST DAY: I reviewed my lab values before going into the center. My appt. was at 2pm, I went in at 1pm..

* I found out that I didn't pass through MQA (Florida Health Website) 2 days later...

2nd Attempt:

* I had the FULL 265 questions (took 1 break, around my 210th question)

* I ONLY used UWORLD qbank, Mark Klimek audios, and I went to a LIVE HURST REVIEW near where i lived. (I went to it twice)

* UWORLD is amazing. The rationales are what helped me UNDERSTAND content believe it or not. Both wrong or right... i wrote down my own notes (typed notes... 14 FULL pages) of my rationales that I didn't understand. I would do 100 questions a day. The bank contains 1900 for 30 days... I did the whole bank in August to Sept.. and bought it again (1900 questions) till October 9th.. a day after my Nclex.

* The HURST LIVE REVIEW was also great as well. It helped me understand content in a way that is relatable. By relatable I mean there was humor, and "come to Jesus" moments with Aunt Marlene and her charismatic attitude towards passing the NCLEX. I would do each video... every other day.. depending on my mood. :laugh:

* Mark Klimek audios were also wonderful... didn't finish all of them though. It was approx. 12 audio clips. Took notes with those as well. MANY MNEMONICS with Klimek...so great.

* With my studying times... I reallllyyyyy buckled down with my studying. The people at Starbucks already knew me by name. I was there almost everyday when I wasn't working. I would show up around 10am... wouldn't leave till 5pm.

* Day before my test, I reviewed ALL OF MY NOTES, from UWORLD, MARK Klimek, and HURST. JUST NOTES. No questions. Didn't do any questions all day.

* Day of TEST: My test was at 11:00am. Had a protein smoothie...and headed over around 10am. Left the test center near 1:30 ish... had 2 hours left on my test. Got the full 265. I also got the LAST question wrong... so that myth about failing if you got the last question wrong is WRONG. Every question is pointed differently...

SOOOO...:laugh::yes:

I did the PVT (Pearson Vue Trick)... and I got the GOOD POP UP (multiple times)...

But definitely want to see the word PASS on the screen... so gotta wait till either tomorrow to see it on MQA... or buy the quick results.

ALL IN ALL. Prayer and confidence in your own knowledge is what (I hope) helped me pass my NCLEX. I have seen soooo many people on here that are repeat test takers like myself... and EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU.. have been such an inspiration to me.

Stay Prayed UP!... and have Faith in yourself and in your God giving talent to become an amazing NURSE! I even wrote my name, and the RN initials on my bathroom mirror to remind myself that I can do it!

HOPE THIS HELPS SOMEONE OUT THERE!!!!!
