NCLEX retest 2nd Try in 14 Days

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hello to all.........

I am going in for round 2. Ready to face the dreaded NCLEX monster for the second time on the 24th of this month which is exactly 14 days away! I am beyond excited this time around because I know exactly what to expect. The first time I tested was in June(the 10th to be exact). I graduated in December 2014, and although I waited awhile before testing the first time, I definitely know where I went wrong. The first time I did not take the test as serious as I should have. I figured nursing school was enough to get me through it. I used Kaplan the first time around and a 35 page study guide I found on here as well as the PDA Lacharity book. I scored Above passing in management of care, and I truly believe the PDA book helped me with that. All other sections I scored nearly passing. I did the PVT trick right away and got the declined message from day one. I was extremely sad and depressed for about a week, and after that I brushed myself off and got serious. I was working full time during the first try. I quit my job and my bf has supported me so that I can study hardcore. I study mon-thurs and give myself a break on the weekends. The first time around I did 100% of the q bank and on my q trainers I was not scoring any higher than 52%. I tested anyway smh. This time around on all q bank sessions I am scoring 76-94% and that is in all areas. My q trainers 1-5 I have scored between 68-76% never going below 68%. I can't lie this has me pumped lol. I will be taking q trainer 6 on (9/14/15 )Monday and will be taking trainer 7 the Monday (9/21/15)before I test. I am doing no less than 100 q bank questions a day. I am reading the rationales to my wrong answers as well this time with Kaplan, which I did not do the first time. I made study guides from questions from q trainers 5,6,&7 and go over those at least once a week. I also read the 35 page study guide every other day. I would say I have given myself a strong 30 days this time to seriously study and I have been going to my local library every day to focus. So all in all I study about 4 hrs everyday except fri-sun. To any retesters out there I wish you the best of luck, and regardless of the outcome I will post for everyone on here. Let the countdown begin.........
