NCLEX-PN, Using NCSBN Review

Nursing Students NCLEX

Hello hello,

This is my very first post to the forum and I'd just like to say hey to everyone! Great site!

Now, I am scheduled to take my NCLEX-PN in exactly one week. Sadly, my second time taking it. I took the predictor for school with a 90% chance of passing the exam, so naturally I thought it would be fine to just brush up quick the week before the exam. Did not go so swimmingly. I found the NCSBN 3 week course and I have been at it for a week and a half now. I just keep going down through each unit- Currently in Pharm (3 sections whereas the rest are 1) which section B is possibly longer than the first two units combined. I have been doing all the quizzes so far and doing some question bank quizzes at the end to mix up reading the material. I'll score anywhere from a 60-90% on all the quizzes. I jumped to the "Post Test" for pharm while I was half way through section B and got a 75%- right at the alleged passing level.

My mind says I should at least touch up on each part of the rest of the pharm review, but anyone who has seen this review knows that there is a lot more to study pass the Pharm portion when it starts breaking units down into body systems.

I think the question banks have been helpful, they're catching me reading to fast or misreading. My question is- Should I continue to try and read through every unit or skim some or just focus on the question banks? Also, are these question banks harder than what some of you experienced on the NCLEX? I simply was not prepared the first time-again, my own fault- so I cannot even really recall the similarity.

P.S. the nerves are really starting to settle in here, I'm freaking out. If I do get a 60% or so on a quiz, it's demoralizing only being a week out. I have a lot riding on passing this exam next week. Stress management is being attempted in full force right now

Thanks a lot!

How has the studying been going?! I'm getting nervous as can be. 4 days out.

When I started running out of time I did the points to remember and took the tests. I read every rational. Even the ones I got right. I also studied the information in the question if I got it wrong. I passed the NCLEX with 85 questions in 2 hours.

I am doing as many practice questions as i could. But it gets overwhelming already... like when i encounter the same question i don't remember the answer anymore. Lol maybe so far i have answered more or less 7k questions... but i am aware that my brain wouldn't really be able to remember everything. I have just a week left and my anxiety is off the roof. I did PDA, saunders, cram, kaplan, lippincott... How about you?

I want to say to u " just relax dj20bb, u can do this." But i don't even know how to do it myself... waahhh by just typing this my hands became ice cold.

Yeah, I ended up hitting up a couple body systems that I thought I needed a refresher on and then I made sure I got done with all of the questions. I thought the course helped SO much for the exam.

Sooooooooo, how did it go?! I was going crazy with the practice questions and man was I ever getting frustrated with some of them. It was discouraging at times. That's so many questions that you knocked out though! That's awesome! I basically just used the NCSBN. I thought those questions and rationales were HUGE in helping with the exam.

I appreciate it! I ended up passing though! I'm anxious to see how you did!
