NCLEX-PN Encouragement

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I finished my nursing program back in June 2013. I got my approval to test(after what seemed like ages) in October. Scheduled my exam for Nov. 1st. I stressed for a month studying every day for atleast 4 hrs each day ATI ATI ATI and studying this little guy that i found in one of these forums which is so worth the hours I spent reviewing it. I wish I had the link to it, regardless, every topic I went through was a great help. Not only for study but also encouragement.

I was a NERVE-WRECK. My boyfriend who is the most patient out of all couldn't even stand me then, God bless his soul, he was very supportive and knew how to ground me and push me to study harder. I know I couldnt have done this without his support or God's guidence.

I cannot say I studied like I know some of my classmates did. Ive always lacked THE studying ability, but for three weeks I tried.

The day OF I woke up at 4 to get ready and headed out at 5. My testing site was an hour away. I met up one of my classmate at starbucks to do an hour of studying. It did not go the way we planned, the closer 7 oclock drew the more nervous we got. I was shaking by the time 7:15 rolled around.

at 7:30 we were at the testing site, I was so nervous they had to scan my palm more than normal because my palms were sweating.I was guided into my cubical and i was given the instructions. Once the test begun the room felt like it got warm, then hot, I was sweating. 85 questions in 49 mins down and I slowly clicked next....DONE!!!!! It was a relief but also frighting because ...yes...I was the first one done.

Over half of my questions were SATA. I thought i was going to die, why was God punishing me with those. I was never good at select all that apply questions. The exam seemed easier than I thought it would so that worried me bause it was said that if its easy then youre doing it wrong.

I went over to my classmates house (hers also stopped at 85 questions) to do the PVT

I asked her to go first she got the good popup

after minutes of debate I gathered the courage to do it

as I clicked next I prayed to God.

then...THE POP UP!!

To this day I feel like I over studied. To me there isnt much I could have studied to know what I was going to get. "Either you know it or you dont" is what they say. THEY are correct. Doesnt hurt to study though.

I read this alot on here and i believe it, now. It is true.

Pray alot, study most of all be confident in yourself, if God has gotten you this far he will not abandon you.

Best of luck to all you Future Nurses

Best of Wishes

So you passed? Congrats! By the way what state are you from? It is taking forever to get the att. The NY state says im all set but its Pearson saying it isnt showing we payed yet and when I call they cant even find me ugh! Any tips for what to focus on?

I got the good pop up. So in good faith id like to say I passed.

I'm in California. I registered online so it took me top 10 mins to receive my ATT via email..

I reviewed subjects I wasnt great at so Pharm and lab values

Our ATI Live review person told us to take all SATA answers as a question of its own and since over half of my exam was SATA that is what I did....key point say calm. You have more than enough time to finish.

I had half SATA, COPD, and like one OB

One of my classmates had 200 OB questions

NCLEX is a box of chocolates they say

Congratulations!! I'm in Cali too and my att has taken forever and a day to get here. 5 months! Now I am a wreck. But this post has made me a little less nervous. Any big tips?
