NCLEX help 2014

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hello my fellow nurses.

I need a little help. I graduated nursing school in Dec 2013. I did not take an nclex review class, I studied with the newest edition Saunders book, mostly online, I read some some of the chapters but i mostly used the Evolve site to do questions everyday. I also made a ton of note cards with lab values and other things I didn't know. I took my NCLEX-RN April,7 2014 and failed. now its 2 months later and I feel like I'm in the biggest rut. I don't have the time to take an actual review class, so I was thinking of doing Kaplan online. Has anyone taken it? I've looked for customer reviews online but it's mostly from the Kaplan site, and honestly I just want real reviews, nothing staged. I feel like I'm at a stand still in my life and that I will never start working, which I want so badly. Anyway just need a little advice on here if anyone could help. thanks! :cat:

I went to Kaplan for my ADN, and had the review class after graduation. It really helped me in the way that nclex wants you to test, they call it "NCLEX" hospital. It teaches you strategies of how to walk your way through a problem which really helps, also it helped with my SATA test taking abilities. I would recommend it. Good luck!

I did Kaplan On Demand. I was going to just do the Qbank but I had $75 off so it ended up being something like $50 more and I could get the Qbanks AND online videos.

I'll be honest. I didn't really watch the videos. I just did the Qbanks and I feel that THAT is what prepared me. Just doing question after question. I also did ATI through my school, but as far as practice? It was w/ Kaplan.

I was advised to do 50 questions 2-3 times a day, so that's what I did and read the rationales.

I, too, would recommend it!

By the way...not sure if you know, but if you attend a Kaplan "free" event (I just watched a one hour online LIVE session) they will send you a coupon or discount code to get $75 off. I'm not sure if they always offer that, but it's worth checking in to.

Good luck!

thank you!! i just looked into a local person who does a review who ive heard good things about and she wants 600$ so kaplan is looking better and better!
