MY studying and Nclex experience!

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Just wanted to share with you guys my experience up to today! I graduated in December took Hurst live review Jan 5-8 and received my ATT March 1st and scheduled my test today...March 25th. I was hesitant to schedule my test today because that meant I only had 3 weeks to study. But I spoke to fellow nurses and they told me just take it ASAP...I also was afraid about how they said the test changes in April.

So from March 1st- up to yesterday I studied everyday....I used Hurst...Kaplan Qbank and Qtrainers scores were as follows

Q1 60

Q2 60

Q3 56

Q4 47

Q5 59

Q6 63

Q7 62

I studied Hurst over and over only was able to do 3 out of 6 exams in Hurst...

I also had PDA was unable to finish only did 3 chapters.

I took Nclex today and it stopped at 225. I had over 20 SATA questions...like 5 or 6 EKG strips, around 10 drag and drop questions, 5 exhibit questions, no hot spots, no audio, and 2 identify pics. I honestly felt only half of what I studied for was on this test!!! The other half was general questions. I had more than 10 meds and only knew 1 of them. My brother told me it doesn't matter how much u study for this...you're never gonna feel prepared!! And he was right!! I prayed throughout the whole test and only took 1 break to get a drink of water.

I can say everyday I prayed and fasted and would already thank God and claimed that I passed. I would say everyday Phillipians 4:13 "I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO STRENTHENS ME." Like previous test takers said I took Jesus inside with me during this test!! And he didnt fail me!!! HE IS MY STRENTGH!! I checked at 2:30pm and got the GOOD POP UP!!!! THANK YOU JESUS!!! I give him the ALL the glory!!!!

Well hurst is wonderful to study for content....they make it so easy to understand!!!! And u can take Kaplan for questions. Doing questions everyday....and going over rationales.

Specializes in Progressive, Intermediate Care, and Stepdown.

Don't forget to thank your nursing instructors as well. You've probably seen the bumper sticker, "If you can read this, thank a teacher." Well, if you pass NCLEX, thank a nursing professor. Take care.

Def!!! Our school prepared us!! So far all of us passed!! I plan to go back to my school and tell them the great news!!

Congratulations! You are so right! A person can study all he/ she wants too! the most important thing is having faith in God!!! It can't be done without him!!! Once again congrats!!!

Blessed and highly favored!!! Thank you!!!

Love reading posts like these! It motivates me and keeps me positive. I have been out of school for 2 years and will take my test in 2 weeks. I couldn't help but feel nervous and was hesitant to take the test but God renewed my faith. Thanks for sharing your experience! I know with God's help and all my studying I WILL pass too! :sarcastic:
