Kaplan's Qbank

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hello :)

I have a question. I am taking my boards next Wednesday(the 23rd). I purchased kaplan's qbank and I'm doing 200 questions per day ( I'll be done with them by this Saturday). Anyways, these questions are very challenging and they really do keep me on my toes. I know I should not get hung up on predictor scores because the nclex rn is one unpredictable exam BUT My qbank average is anywhere from 54%-68% and I can't find it anywhere on the kaplan site where it explains what an "average" qbank test scores should be. BTW: never in my life have I ever scored less then 80% on nursing exams (seeing 54%-68% hurts my big heart lol :redbeathe)

Thank you!

Hey jenfos2, I'm taking my NCLEX on Thursday and am sooo nervous!!! My scores on the question trainers were:

Diagnostic Test = 67%

NCLEX Readiness Test = 64%

QT#1 = 56%

QT#2 = 60%

QT#3 = 61%

QT#4 = 61%

QT#5 = 59%

QT#6 = 70%

QT# = Still need to take this 265 question one which I'm planning on doing tomorrow... ;)

As far as the Q-bank, I have completed 76% of the questions with an average score of 64% which I'm happy with. Just in the past week my scores have been improving greatly, I even got a 78% on one of the practice 50 question tests I did yesterday! I am doing 50 questions (the max it lets you) at a time. If you do like 20 at a time it can throw off your scores...

What about you, how are your scores looking? Any advice? Your big day is coming up soon right??

And any advice anyone else has? Or other Kaplan scores prior to taking NCLEX? Just trying to see where I'm at.

Happy studying!

:D

Hello! I think your scores are great! Mine are not that good. I have a 55% on the q bank and I only have 5% left to do!

My diagnostic is 61% I spoke to a rep. at kaplan and she said a 60% means you have a 89% chance of pass NCLEX on the first time! YOU AR SET!

My qtrainers are all over

1: 50%

2: 65%

3: 57%

I am doing the rest starting tomorrow.

did you do the sample tests? I got a 64% on the first one. I just noticed those tests. They are in with the q banks.

You will do great. I only graduated with 20 people and 4 of my close friends just took it in the last few weeks. THEY ALL passed with only 75 questions! Keep me posted. Good luck. I will be studying all week if you want to chat okay?

my e-mail is [email protected] it is easier that way. I am still getting use to all nurses.com

Just saw this:

On page 28 of the Kaplan book it says, "Aim for 60% correct on Question Trainer Test 6 and 7 and all Qbank questions."

Feel free to lower your standards. :)

OMG I take my test on Tuesday (the 8th) and you just really made my day. I was underneath the understanding you needed 65% plus on the Qbank. Here I am averaging around 60% and I was freaking out. Ahhh so much relief. Qt6 I got 56% and Qt7 I got 62%. I feel much better now. Thank you!!!!!!!!!

Ladies we can do this! Wow Twinessa your test is in 2 days, awesome!!! Mine is on Thursday... What about you Jen, when is yours?! I'm about to start Question Trainer 7 so wish me luck, this one's gonna be sooooo long! Twinessa, be sure to let us know how your exam goes and how many questions you get I am very excited for you and wish you the BEST OF LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll be back here in a few hours with my QT 7 score...

And by the way, yesterday I did 4 sets of 50 Q-Bank questions and now have 81% of the questions completed with still an average of 64%. On the 4 sets of 50 yesterday my scores were: 64%, 56%, 70%, 56%... Haha, They are so random! Sometimes I do well and sometimes not as well, but I just think some are harder than others! :D

Hello! I am taking the Kaplan NCLEX review on line. I am also "freaking out" I feel like my test scores are horrible. I got a 61% on the diagnostic test, I have only done 3 question trainers and have gotten 65%-55%. The Q bank is really hard I have a cumulative of 53% and I am so upset. I take the NCLEX in 2.5 weeks and need to pass, I have a job waiting! Any advice?

Your question trainer scores are pretty solid and your diagnostic score was good too.

How much of the question bank have you completed?

How did you do on the Readiness Test?

Watching the lectures on demand can be very helpful. Try giving that a shot and keep on during questions and reviewing the rationale.

EDIT: just saw your follow up post. Sounds like you've done most the the question bank. 55% is still pretty solid. It's a little lower than the recommended 60% but I think they put in a high standard for good measure. Keep up the good work! :)

OMG, prettyinpink57, I totally know what you are saying about the question bank being random. Sometimes I get a 60% and then I get a 78%. I keep saying that they need to shuffle the question bank a little better. The difficulty of the 50 question tests varies so much.

Good luck on your question trainer 7. I am not looking forward to that long test. I just took question trainer 6 today and 200 questions was too much for me. Got so antsy!

I should add, I'm taking the NCLEX on Friday the 11th of February.

SO NERVOUS!

WOW noyesno, you take it the day after me!!! I am so happy I could cry, I just finished Question Trainer 7 and am happy to say I got a 68%!!!!! Sitting through 265 questions was a nightmare and hope that none of us have to sit through that many questions on the NCLEX (but if it's what we must do to pass then so be it! ;) ) So you just finished QT 6 huh? How did you do if you don't mind me asking. How are you feeling? How much q-bank have you finished so far and what is your plan of action between today and the big day?! :D

GREAT JOB on Question Trainer 7!:yeah::yeah::yeah:

That's a really high score!

265 is a lot of questions and I really hope I pass with 75 questions. Crossing my fingers! I'll cross my fingers for you too!

I got a 67 on Question Trainer 6.

Here is how I've done thus far:

Diagnostic: 63

Question Trainer 1: 67

Question Trainer 2: 65

Question Trainer 3: 68

Question Trainer 4: 62

Question Trainer 5: 63

Question Trainer 6: 67

Question Trainer 7: I'm going to take it on Tuesday

Readiness Test: 72

Average Question Bank: 66% (still have 250 questions left to go)

I know my scores are on target but I feel like I guess a majority of the time.

Plan of action:

Go through the lectures on demand for my two weak areas (Physiological Integrity and Health Promotion) throughout the week. I watched all the lectures on demand the week before starting Kaplan but I thought it might be wise to review my week areas again.

Monday: 150 question bank questions

Tuesday: Question Trainer 7

Wednesday: 50 question bank questions and review lab values

Thursday: 50 question bank questions, review lab values again, and cross my fingers that you pass in 75 :)

Friday: TEST DAY!

Any special plan of action for you? :)

WOW!!!! Your scores are GREAT, I have no doubt you will pass in 75! I'm actually going through all 265 questions right now from QT 7 and am really making sure I understand all the material, this is quite the process cause i'm only on question 93 and have been at this for a couple hours ;) (I'll find something I need to review in my Saunder's book and then find another topic right next to it and continue reading on that - lol). Tomorrow I work a 12 hr shift at my job (currently working on a busy trauma floor as a tech so it definitely keeps a lot of this fresh!) and then Tuesday I plan to finish the rest of my q-bank questions (I have 81% completed) and study rationales and content in between each set of 50, and Wednesday (my LAST day yikes!) gonna just review as much as I can... All the notes I've taken, q-bank questions I've missed, etc.. I know people say to relax and do nothing nclex related the day before your test but I am not one of those people. If I give myself a day off I've noticed that I am slightly rusty when starting back up again. I do plan on getting a GOOD night's sleep (if I'm able to even fall asleep!) and packing myself a few snacks to bring with me along with a Naked Juice

I am definitely keeping my fingers crossed and saying a prayer for us, we've worked so hard to get where we are and I think the big thing is just to remember that we ARE smart and well-prepared.

I'm glad I've found this little blog, it's definitely nice to relate to people who are in the same boat as me! :D :D :D

Hey Guys! Good luck this week! I take mine on the 16th. I have 4 friends that have already passed with 75q.

I just did QT 4 and only got a 60% I think kaplan says try for a 65% that is okay I am not going to freak out.

My Qbank is done and I got a 58% so it seems as thought 60% is my magic number UGH!

Keep us posted

HA! my one year old black lab just rolled off the bed. poor puppy!
