how long after submitting paperwork....

by MIA-RN1

How long after submitting paperwork for licensure application did you have to wait until you 1. got your paperwork from Pearson and 2. got your att?
My class was told to mail it out 5/30 since that is our official grad date and so I sent it overnight yesterday. By noon today they will have it at the state BON.

So now I guess I just wait? I want to take the NCLEX ASAP, and I am worried I might have to wait months! (School said 6-8 weeks before we can schedule!)
Im in NYS if that makes a difference.

Although I just stumbled into this site but I can tell you it depends on how fast your state BON is. I graduated like on a friday, my school sent out our paper to BON on monday and I got my ATT in my email from pearsonvue on tuesday. I'm taking the exam on tuesday next week! So, be on the look out for your ATT, might even come before the week runs out...

Did you have to send in the $200 to pearsonvue before getting your ATT? I thought thats what I was told, and then you have to wait again for the att?

Ok, I'm not sure I know the paperwork you are talking about...if it's the FBI background check, yes, you may have to wait that long that your school stated. We were told to do that earlier on in the semester and I sent mine like end of January. I don't know how long it took them to do. i also paid 200 to pearsonvue by ist week in April. I then graduated and my school sent out our paper work to BON before Pearsonvue sent my ATT by email the following day.I hope this helps..

oh see we couldn't send ANYTHING out until 5/30 (our official grad date). I suppose we could have done it earlier but the department told us not to. I don't know what FBI form....Yesterday I sent in form 1 (appl. for licensure) and form 5 (appl for limited permit), along w/ $170. THen I guess the bon sends something to school to get verification of my education and then after they get that they contact pearson who sends out that booklet and then I have to send them $200 and then I get the little att postcard.

..I think it varies by state but what we basically did was to send out the application for licensure to the BON with two passport photographs and 2 finger print cards and application fee. I think the BON is supposed to forward the finger print cards to the FBI for background checking. I believe that is what your school said would take 6-8weeks. For us they told us to do this at least 3months prior to graduation so that you can have time to sort out any problems along the way(if any). I know some pple who didn't do it until after graduation because they were worried about not passing the last semester and losing their money..which makes sense, but I paid on time and even paid the pearsonvue earlier so that once I graduated and my school sent out our paperwork to BON, it was easy for them to send my ATT immediately because I completed everything..

the fingerprint must be state to state because we don't have to do that. They said that we get fingerprinted when we go to take the test. We did have to send out the application with a passport photo on it.
