Failed Nclex - Can I apply for reciprocity?

I failed the nclex 3x here in florida. Can i apply to take the nclex in another state and if il pass.. il apply for reciprocity? I really dont want to do the remedial course. Please help.. i dont know what to do

There is no such thing as reciprocity. One state does not have to honor the privilege to practice granted by any other state. Licensing requirements vary quite a bit from state to state and in order to be granted a license by endorsement, you will have to meet the requirements set forth by the state in which you wish to practice.

If you take and pass NCLEX in a state that allows more than 3 tries, in all likelihood, you will have to practice in that state for a significant period of time to establish a record of safe practice before Florida would consider granting you a license by endorsement.

I'm sorry that you've struggled with NCLEX, and realize that a review course is not desirable to you. However, I highly suggest that you take one, and that you contact your nursing school and pressure them for assistance in NCLEX preparation. They took your tuition money, granted you passing grades throughout your education, and have a vested interest in your success. They should be willing to help you.

I was out of school 11years ago. I got my BSN degree in Philippines. Part of the reason why i dont like the remedial course is the fact that the approved remedial courses here in florida are very from where i am. I inquired and only one of them offered it online for the class but for clinicals they said i have to look for a hospital here. I dont know what to do really.

Hello, I need to take a remedial course as well. I'm planning on going to Miami Dade in the summer to complete the course; however just found out the class usually gets cancelled if there's not enough registered students. Now I'm trying to come up with a Plan B. Did you enroll in a remedial course?
