Can Somebody Explain NCLEX Process?

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hi everyone,

I'm a Senior nursing student, graduating in two months. There is some confusion in my class about the whole NCLEX process. Can somebody please explain how setting up the test works? For example:

1. How early can you register to test?

2. Where do you register, and with whom?

3. Can I register before I receive my diploma?

Thank you all so much! I'm just trying to make these muddy waters a little more clear.

Can you explain the 'registered with your state' part? Are you talking about registering for the NCLEX or for your license? I also haven't been told anything about this process, so sorry if the question seems silly!

Thank you!! I registered with my state, and paid Pearson Vue. I really appreciate the help!

Also, are you registering for your current state by exam and then for the Minnesota license by endorsement? Or just registering for MN license by exam? Since it doesn't matter where we take the NCLEX.

Just register with Minnesota by exam. I think it costs $137. Then register for the NCLEX on Pearson Vue. After you send you fingerprints to Minnesota Board of Nursing, they'll approve you to take the NCLEX. You use the code they give you, enter it into Pearson Vue, and schedule your test.

Thank you so much! So glad I found this thread.
