Anyone have any feedback on live review classes they have taken??

I tooked Kaplan and Hurst before. The live review and online was pretty good, in my opinion. But it didn't work for me though. I can't afford to attend another review, so my cousin recommended Saunders 5th ed. I studied the book and CD thoroughly for at least 2 months. I also did some questions from LaCharity, but didn't really finished everything. Took the exam this April and passed with 78 questions. I personally think a combination of content review + practice questions, is what one need to pass the exam. Just doing tons of questions, in my opinion, is not really going to help, because you really need a good solid content knowledge to answer the higher-level type of questions.

It mainly boils down to your preference...

Kaplan - Test taking strategies

Hurst - Content review

If you want to study on your own, Saunders is good for content review. It also comes with a bunch of test questions. My advice would be to do as many questions as you can. Make sure you understand the rationale. If there's something you don't know, look it up. Also go over test-taking strategies. Good luck

NCBSN learning extension. I did 5-week course. My NCLEX prep is mostly relied on this since it is structured just like NCLEX's topics (Health promotion, management, etc). I also used Saunders book the very last day before my exam. The NCSBN is compact, easy to read and does not overwhelm me with abundant information. It allows me to set my own target and pace. I thank NCSBN for helping me pass NCLEX the first time. You will need to have some basic understanding of the concepts; only then this review will make sense. They are pretty generic. God luck!

I was pleased with the live four-day Hurst Review classes I took back in 2010. I've heard they've shortened it to a three-day review.
