...Made Incredibly Easy

Nursing Students NCLEX

I bought "NCLEX-RN Questions & Answers Made Incredibly Easy" off of Ebay, and got it in the mail yesterday.

My question is: Are the other NCLEX study books/CDs harder than this one?

Granted I just got the book, but I have flipped through the book answering questions. MOST of the ones I answered I got right!

I haven't even started nursing school, and I'm hoping the others that I WILL purchase later will be more challenging.

I realize there are 3500 questions in this book, and if I were to answer all of them right now, I probably wouldn't be able to answer 10% correctly. However, when it comes to studying for the NCLEX later down the line, I want something that will really prepare me.

I just bought this one to study the style of questions so that I could get used to them before I start nursing school.

(BTW, the questions I answered correctly came from all parts (beg/mid/end) of the chapters, and I looked at several different chapters.)

I liked the format of the Made Easy book. I had another book from another company as well, but i didn't feel the questions were any harder or easier.

i used lippincott's review for nclex 7th edition for school. it has over 5000 questions broke into sections (GI, resp, cardio, peds cardio ect..) no review stuff just questions. the best book IMO for someone going through the program. i used the made incredibly easy to study for the nclex after graduating. only book i used. and the cd's from both books. for me lippincott is the best hands down. if i were you i would by the lippincott's review for nclex 7th edition and use it for your classes. save the made incredibly easy for after graduation, and use it for the nclex. like i said it was the only book i used for the nclex and nailed the boards.

Thanks for the responses! :)

I really thought I would get almost everyone one wrong, and it surprised me that I was getting most correct.

Now, to get accepted into nursing school, and learn some of the background on the ones I got wrong....lol

I used the Saunders NCLEX with the CD , but also ordered the Made Icredibly Easy as a back-up. I found it easier to just stick to one book, though.

I also used SEVERAL of the Made Incredibly Easy books in my course studies.

They were extremely helpful.

ie. Dosages and Calculations, Fluids & Electrolytes, etc. Great books ! :)

jnette: I've seen these as well, but I've also seen the magazine subscriptions.

Are the magazines any good? Would they help, or is it better to purchase only the books?

Thanks for your response. :)

I think the magazine's pretty cool, but if you're in a speciality unit, it doesn't usually contain much geared toward it.

Hmmm, I may subscribe then.

The magazines are nice, and they are helpful. But for actual STUDY help in a particularly difficult area, topic, or course..I'd get the book on that one.

I have the "American Journal of Nursing" magazine ordered already. I may subscribe to both. ;)

As for the books, I've seen "Assessments made Incredibly Easy". Is this a good one, or are assessments more common sense, and only studying from your nursing book is needed for this?

Any good nursing book/curriculum will cover assessments pretty well. But if you can afford purchasing a few extra books on the side as reinforcement, go for it !

I didn't get that one, I really needed the fluids and electrolytes one to help clarify things.. teh one on ECGs and rythm strips is nice as well, and the one on dosage calculations is FABULOUS !!! Really made thing simple.. easy to understand and remember, with lots of little practice questions, etc.

I get the Nursing 2005 magazine, which I find to be a very good all around nursing magazine. :)

I saw that one too. I might have to order it later on. I guess if anyone comes to my house, they better be prepared to read nursing magazines or 'teenager' magazines because that's all I'll have around here to offer. lol
