I get $2000/year to use on whatever it is I want and I mean - whatever I want including things that are non nursing related.
If it's a requirement for my job (ACLS, TNCC, PALS, etc...) the facility pays for it.
Anything additional, like my CEN, CCRN, etc..., comes from the $2000/year figure. I can use my $2000 for gas, pay for the day, review classes, whatever I need - just need receipts.
We have educatation classes at our main facility - but they are costly to the employee that lives 60+ miles away from the main facility - so I don't attend those often. They are supposed to be free if required by your job.
They have recently started adding on line powerpoint classes which help with CEU's plus they are free AND I don't have to drive 120 miles.
