'the list' at stlcc

U.S.A. Missouri

Here's my question: is one's place on the list determined by timing only or does gpa, coreq completion, dosage test score, etc. all factor in and place one higher? I'm at Flo Valley but I'm considering transferring to UMSL if the wait is too long.

I took some pre reqs at all three STLCC campus for my BSN program at Goldfarb. I really like the instructors. I have worked with many great nurses who graduated from STLCC. Additionally, if you check the state board of nursing website they have excellent pass rates.

I think you get an excellent nursing education at community colleges as has been demonstrated by the many nurses I have worked with from various community colleges. I say if you can get in do it.

Also, remember that UMSL is not as cheap for a state school as you would imagine. They charge you $250 per credit hour for each class listed as nursing in addition to regular tuition. (I applied to MSN program but opted out-better to go to private MSN program for that price!)

Best wishes in whatever you decide to do.

Did you take 3wk APII at FV with Chris?!

He makes it sound so great.

I took A&P I & II at FV and Chris is wonderful!! He is an excellent instructor. I didn't have him as my instructor, but he did work in the labs and tutored in the student help center. He knows his stuff, and he makes it easy to understand. I wish I had had him as an instructor rather than the one I had for A&P I.

Oh, and I applied at SCCC, FV, and FP around August of 2007 and was accepted into FV and SCCC for fall of 2008. I got accepted into FP for Spring of 2009. I chose SCCC, since I live closer to it, and I'm loving it.

Rhollins:Awesome! Glad to hear you're loving NS! Chris is my lab instructor and he's been great. Very available for clarification! He's hilarious but his tests are NO joke!

Thanks for all the insight!
