Pay at Children's Mercy Hospital

U.S.A. Missouri

:balloons: Hey everyone! I was just wondering if anyone knows the current pay at Children's Mercy for new LPNs and RNs? My sister and I are starting LPN at NCMC in August and our desire and goal is to work at CMH. Also, do they have any sign-on bonuses, help reimburse student loans and how do they treat their employees? I would great appreciate any responses to this because we will be driving for at least an hour one way to work there and we need to know if financially it will be worth it.

I think that Children's Mercy is an all RN hospital.T

The current starting salary for a graduate nurse at Children's Mercy is $20.08. There aren't many positions for LPNs; in fact, I work with a woman on my floor who was a care assistant and just graduated with her LPN, and our own floor can't even hire her because the hospital isn't really hiring LPNs anymore.

There are many employees on my floor who drive an hour or more to work at CMH. You won't find another hospital with better staffing ratios and employee satisfaction than Children's Mercy. I've been here 2 years and I love it. I've seen what other hospitals in KC are like, and I am grateful every day to be here at Children's. They don't do signing bonuses because they don't need to; people already want to work here. I think they do some tuition reimbursement, but I don't know any details. Maybe the hourly rate isn't as high, but if you love pediatrics, this is the only place to work.

Thank you everyone for your replies. I have always wanted to work there since I was a child myself. My sister and I think it would be worth the drive also. I hope it works out, that we both pass right on through LPN and RN as this is our goal.

Another question, are they good at helping people to get on the same shift that carpool together?

Once again, thank you for your replies.

I was in at childrens mercy and and i saw multiple LPN's!
