How do clinicals at St. Charles work?

I'm hoping to get into the bridge program at St. Charles starting in Spring '10 and have been trying to figure out from the course schedule how the clinicals work, but I have to admit I'm confused about the semester that includes NUR104 and NUR105. The course schedule lists the clinical, lecture, and lab component of each as lasting for the entire semester. I'm assuming that they are split up somehow? Like NUR124 first eight weeks, NUR125 last eight weeks? Are NUR104 and NUR105 concurrent?

I know it's early to be worrying about this kind of thing, but I want to have some idea of what kind of clinical hours I'll be looking at for each semester. I'm hoping to get scholarships to supplement my income once I hit clinicals but need to plan ahead just in case.

Thanks to anyone who can help!

Also...if there are any instructors who I should avoid, or any who are especially good, please PM me to let me know! There's one instructor I've already been warned about repeatedly...

I am in my first semester at St. Charles and can say that this semester my clinicals are two days a week, five hours each day. Lab times are not set, we just have to get in there as much as we can to practice before test out, which is every two weeks. As far as the schedule you mention, I cannot really answer as that will be my schedule next semester, and I am not sure myself how it will work. I believe that we will have two types of clinicals a week, like one on a psych floor and one on a peds floor. Right now both days are on the same med/surg floor. And you are correct, 104 and 105 are split up, taught on different days. 1st semester we only had one lecture class taught on two days, next we will have two lecture classes (104 & 105).

So far each of my instructors have been great! It's a vey demanding program, but so far I am enjoying it. Good luck!

Thanks...I'm in Micro now, hopefully going to take Chem next semester and then I'll be able to apply for the bridge. St. Charles just does not seem to have a friendly schedule for people who work, but I live like five minutes away from there so anywhere else would be even more inconvienent.

For second semester with NUR 124 and NUR 125, there is a 6 week rotation of med/surg, 3 week rotation of psych, and a 3 week rotation of peds. Like rhollins said, the lectures are at different times and you only have one lab. Hope this helps a little more!:nuke:
