Since there seems to be a few of us going to work at SCH, I thought we could start our own thread.

I will be on neuro and start in July.

Woo hoo, I got my ID today...officially Dawn S., RN ortho/neuro now :smiley_aa and I can park in the employee parking ramp :)

Quick question for you guys, do either of you know if we get paid a shift differential for our night or weekend shifts? I was reading the info on the pay stub sheet and it says night shift differential, professional and there is a seperate category for straight night RN so I'm kind of curious. Plus, did you get the good news in the mail, we get a raise before we even start :biggringi Can't beat that!

2 for afternoons, 2 for weekends - not sure what night shift is though - and I did enjoy the good news letter :)

So you get an extra $4 for the 3-11 on weekends? Sweet!! I completely forgot to ask about that during the interview so getting extra is an awesome 'bonus' as I figured the straight salary was good considering my last job paid $8/hr LOL

Only two more days!

I got paid more but usually only worked 10 hours a week so this will be WAY nice :) I called and asked about it later too - didn't ask at the interview. It'll cover benefit costs, I figure.

Ookay I haven't been on here for awhile and now I feel completely lost...!!!!! How did you get your floor schedule already?! haha....did you call or something?? I figured we would get it on Monday.....so hopefully I will find out more then. I have no idea when my weekends are and it has been really hard to plan stuff for weddings/showers/etc! Also---I didn't get any letter in the mail about pay or anythign else.....!? Can either of you tell me a little more about this and if not post it maybe send a private message?? I got my name badge last week and yes it does feel great to see RN after your name!!!! We are finally getting to do what we have put so much hard work toward. I can't believe we start orientation already on Monday! 2 days! I am both very excited/nervous. I am not really familiar with st. cloud hospital at all or how they do anything on the floor so i am hoping to pick up on that stuff very fast.

Hey, I am looking through all of this stuff and have another question that maybe you guys can answer!? On my classroom orientation schedule in the top left (Shaded) it says orientation is in classroom a by the hoppe auditorium. then says (see back for directions), but my back page is blank...... do you guys happen to know where this is?? I am sure there are probably signs...but I would feel a lot better if I had some sort of idea as to where I was going! Thanks!!!!!:)

So what did you guys think of today? I was kind of bummed that since I didn't have to do all the modules and stuff, I ended up leaving at 11:30

Not bummed to be home early, but bummed I didn't get paid for going through the stuff. We did it during clinicals for free but there will be many days in the future that I will wish I could go home early, so I focused on the positive and took a nap LOL

I think today went by fast, but I cant wait to get out of orienation. I really have a hard time concentrating when we are sitting all day filling out worksheets and looking up stuff on the computer!!! Hopefully tomorrow will go fast too !

Must of gotten a new neurosurgeon or two?

Glad it's picking up up on 6!

I just applied to the ortho unit today. What is the starting wage and how long did you guys have to wait for an interview? Just wanted to say that I am also living in little falls!

I can't give you answer about the length before an interview as I started w/ the new grad program so the interviews were all bulked together in the spring. Are you a new grad as well?

Starting for an associates was $26, bachelors degree was around $27 plus there is shift differential as well...$2 for evenings, $2.75 for overnights and $2 for weekends.

Let us know if you hear anything and good luck!

I see there are a few of you that started at SCH last year. How are you liking it? Just keeping options open!

Thanks!
