Got into critical care!


Hey everyone,
I'm so happy and I wanted to share with everyone, too! I've been a tele nurse for one year in August and interviewed this week for the Critical Care Internship Program. To my delight, I was chosen and I start August 24th; I will be working in the MSICU! This has been my dream and goal for nursing since school, so I am happy and motivated to start. I will train on days for the program and then go to nights, which I am quite nervous about since I am a "day person," but I suppose I need to start somewhere, right???

Much happiness directed toward you for achieving one of your goals!
I had worked about one year on a tele/step down unit (4-12) and it was tough. BUT I learned how to navigate through my own fears of not "being good enuf" and learned to appreciate and OWN my skills, knowledge, and expertise as an registered professional nurse. I have worked critical care for a few years now, but it was the skills-set that I learned while working that tele floor that I will always appreciate and the friendships I had made along the way (VISN 3)

CONGRATS TO YOU! I graduate in dec this year and hope to get into critical care also. Be sure to update us once you start about your experience. Good luck!

Congrats to you!! I start my Critical Care Rotation Program in less than a month, I am super stocked to say the least.

I am joining this thread since I start my critical care program Aug 24th also!!!! I am happier than I thought possible. I have wanted to be in critical care since NS but I really thing my time as a Public Health Nurse and on the tele floor will help me. Just a few weeks to go, yeah for usNow the hard part of putting in my 2 week notice.
