Kalamazoo lpn schools

U.S.A. Michigan

I recently just passed the NET to get into the toledo school of practical nursing. However my wife just received a very good job in Kalamazoo. So we'll be moving out there. Are there any schools in the area that except the NET scores? Also How are the nursing schools in this area? Any insight would be greatly apprecated. Chris

How about Kalamazoo Valley CC. My neighbor graduated from there about a year and a half ago. He seemed to like their program.

Yes I actually am enrolled there and had my first class yesterday. I'm just doing prereqs right now. I think there is a two year waiting list after the prereqs. How long did it take your neighbor to finish?

It didn't seem to take long at all. The waiting list seems to go faster than the actual 2 years as some people decide they don't want to wait/don't pass some of the prereqs. He didn't sit for the boards for the LPN, he went right on to get his RN. I did know someone else though, that used to post here back when I was still in school (boy, does time fly!) that was going to sit for her LPN boards and also keep on going for her RN. I think life got in the way though as she had 5 kids and one on the way. Teresarn2b I think was her name.

Good luck to you!

Thank you very much. I was going to do the same thing as far as getting my LPN and then staying to get my RN. I know they have a part time option also.

Hey Chris12, I'm about to turn my money in for the Toledo School of Practical Nursing NET test today. What was your preception of the school when u went to take your test? And did you know anyone that attended the school? I dont want to be on a waiting list so I'm going to do the commute when I pass the NET. Any information you can give on the school would be appreciated.

The school seemed like a pretty good school. I personally haven't heard any negative things about it. I didn't know anyone there either. Plus I was the only guy there, so I was a bit nurvious. I would really study for the NET and highly recommend the book they have to offer for the test. I personally failed the first time, but more then passed the second time. I personally wish I could have stayed so that I could have finished sooner. But this way will allow me to get my RN which is what I had planned on originally anyway. Best of luck on your test.

Thanks Chris for the response. So you have to score a 60% on the test? Ive been studying that book and when I take the test at the back Ive been scoring a 80 to 85% I hope thats high enough. But I'm going to keep studying it. The Comprehension is the challenge for me.

There are a few websites that also have some sample tests. One is the Henry Ford website. Just google the NET test. Hope that helps. I studied to much math when I did it the first time. Its the reading that's hard, but others may disagree. Chris
