Need Help
Yes, I know it is very sexist. Your ability should be placed on your job ability, NOT on your race or sex. But again thank you for the encouragment. I'm just hearing a lot of horror stories of people going through school only to find out that they cannot find work.

A BIG concern
Thank you for the encouragment. This has really been bugging me for the past few days. Yes, I expected that I would have to help with heavy lifting. No, I'm not obese and I lift weights and run regularly.lol

Need Help
I will be attending Toledo School of Practical Nursing this coming Sept, however with everyone going into nursing in this geographic area(Detroit, mi Toledo OH.) will facilities still be hiring new grads after I graduate. My goal is, once I graduate, to take the LPN-RN bridge program offered at Monroe County Community College. However I planned to work while doing that program, and I am worried that I will not be able to find a job once I graduate (even if its part time). I was attending KVCC during the fall before I moved back to Monroe and all the teachers were telling me not to worry because I was a male, and their always looking for male nurses. Can anyone else validate this. Any insight would be greatly apprecated. Chris

Kalamazoo lpn schools
There are a few websites that also have some sample tests. One is the Henry Ford website. Just google the NET test. Hope that helps. I studied to much math when I did it the first time. Its the reading that's hard, but others may disagree. Chris

Kalamazoo lpn schools
The school seemed like a pretty good school. I personally haven't heard any negative things about it. I didn't know anyone there either. Plus I was the only guy there, so I was a bit nurvious. I would really study for the NET and highly recommend the book they have to offer for the test. I personally failed the first time, but more then passed the second time. I personally wish I could have stayed so that I could have finished sooner. But this way will allow me to get my RN which is what I had planned on originally anyway. Best of luck on your test.

Thank you very much. I was going to do the same thing as far as getting my LPN and then staying to get my RN. I know they have a part time option also.

Kalamazoo lpn schools
Yes I actually am enrolled there and had my first class yesterday. I'm just doing prereqs right now. I think there is a two year waiting list after the prereqs. How long did it take your neighbor to finish?

I recently just passed the NET to get into the toledo school of practical nursing. However my wife just received a very good job in Kalamazoo. So we'll be moving out there. Are there any schools in the area that except the NET scores? Also How are the nursing schools in this area? Any insight would be greatly apprecated. Chris

I passed the NET
I just got my results in the mail yesterday that I passed the NET. 96 in the math and a 79 in reading. I was real nervous as far as the reading because I failed it in december. This is for the toledo school of practal nursing. There is a lot that has to be done as far as shots, cna, drug test, and criminal backround. I'm pretty excited about starting. I do have one question. How much do all the immunizations cost. We dont have insurense, so I was curious.

Got Laid Off... Good time to Start in the Med Field... But WHERE???
I know this wont help you to much. But I'm in your same position. I'm a union residential electrician and have been layed off more times than I can count. However my wifes a CNA and she describes to me the jobs of the LPN's and it seems very interesting. I have taken the NET test but just missed the reading section, however this time I bought the study guide. My plan was to get the LPN license and work for a year and then take the LPN-Rn program at the Monroe County Community Colege.

career change
Thank you everyone for the encouragement. I know for me the next few weeks are going to drag by. I have been told that there are not many people that pass it the first time around. I know my wife did, and I hope I do also. Again, thank you. Chris

career change
Well I took my NET today. Overall I think I did okay. For me the math was easier then the reading. I was able to finish the math with ten minutes to spare, but the reading, I barley had enough time. Well they told us that we probebly wont hear anything until after the the first of the year. I will let everyone know how I did.
