I've been a patient care tech in a CCU/CVICU for about 5-yrs. To be accepted into Excelsior's nursing program, I filed an appeal that was approved. I had to use an appeal because I do not have a normally required certification (LVN, RT,EMT, etc.) The appeal was based on job experience and the fact that I have finished 3/4 of a traditional ADN program at a local community college. I had to drop out of the program d/t medical issues. Rather than having to wait and to compete to get back into the program, I am using Excelsior to get my degree, and it's turning out to be a great decision.

    Book lists and any other recommended readings will be in the Exam Content Guides that parallel all of the exams. The content guides and taking/studying the practice exams are a must in ensuring you study the right materials for each test.
