   There was a period of time in the mid 90's where New York State allowed CNS's to take certain classes making us eligible for licensure. They don't allow this any longer probably because there are more NP programs & hardly any CNS programs.

   Thank you for your feedback. Yes I was granted a license in my state after taking further required courses. I am doing just as you suggested, looking for CNS positions. Another option I have is to pursue administration or nursing Ed with my master's.
