Well, I didn't get the job, but thanks for your encouraging comments. I'll be working at St Luke's in neurology. Hopefully it'll be just as good experience
Hello, I'm graduating from this program. I worked about 24-36 hours a week in this program. I had friends in the cohort that had kids, and there were several that worked full time. Everyone in the program tried to discourage them from doing it, but they did it, quite successfully. Time management, time management, time management. Something I'd have to add is that at times it can be so. incredibly. unorganized. I used to be the kind of person that needed information and planning and control over life, and this program sure as hell trained me out of it. If you get in, don't expect to feel in control or like you have all the information you need. But finishing in 15 months, while exhausting, was still worth it.
Neuro wasn't what I was aiming for either, I was hoping for something in ER! But I guess they filled the ER slots with internal candidates, so what can you do! I'm actually moving to Houston from Dallas, I'm moving down June 2nd! PM me for Facebook info!
Thanks! You too! Hopefully you get a better email!
Is anyone interviewing/been offered a job at St. Luke's TMC (or other) for the July New Grad Residency? Thought we could share and get to know each other.
I'm in Neuro! Can't wait to start July 7th.
Well, Memorial Hermann officially says thanks but no thanks via email. I'm a little upset, I thought I had a good shot at it. I even overheard one interviewer saying to another that I'd be perfect for it... I have a job secured at St. Luke's, but I was really excited about the opportunity. You win some you lose some, I guess.
No phone call for me yet, let me know if you hear anything!
I got a second interview with Hermann last week too! What department? Mine was with Trauma. They told me they'd call either way today (Monday), so I'm checking my phone every ten seconds hoping they've called. Nothing yet :/
@surgerynurse1963: I'm upset to see this! I'm waiting by the phone for Memorial Hermann to call me today as promised after a 2nd interview for a trauma nurse residency this past week. Should I be wary of them?
Check your email, there are directions there
Ahhhh its up its up its up!
If its not up today, I'll be so tempted to pitch a fit! I know I wont, of course. But my inner 5 year old will! I just want info!!! :P
Where is orientation?
Yes, December 1st! But they said we'd need a password to get in to the orientation, I'd hoped it would be sent today! Bummer.
Has anyone gotten the password for the online orientation?
