Our hospital - a level 1 trauma center - is trying to become a magnet hospital with a goal of 100% BSN nurses. In the ED on nights we are chronically understaffed , stressful in itself but some of the new hires have no critical care or ED experience....

Being the rebel that I am when it comes to "mandatory" regarding my health if they push the issue where I work I will refuse the shot and "wear" the mask-----pinned to my uniform (they don't specify where it has to be worn on my body) I have been wor...
You did nothing wrong. Your patient is an adult and has the right to make decisions for himself. The nurse family member was way out of line and inappropriate as was your nurse manager.
Congratulations - you will always remember that day you got that letter. Though it will be tough hang in there. I have been nursing for 40 years and even with all the ups and downs I can't think of anything else I would rather be doing.

A lot depends on where you want to work. In california north makes more than south for me about (I'm in the southern part) 2-7$/hr difference. Arizona pays about 30-33 an hr. I travel to see different sights.
