I'm a nac and have to say that its crazy that you can't ask the aides to do anything. Imo that is what im there for is to help the nurse. What happens in an emergancy and you have to take charge?

Having no ac in patient rooms, no gloves in resident rooms, fellow coworkers asking to help with lifts and their resident is not ready, coworkers going on breaks every five minutes and I have to take care of their residents.
