I filled out the application for endorsement (NY going to LA) and am anxiously waiting. I did not apply for a temporary permit because that requires a LA address. I won't have an LA address until I work there as an RN, going to work at Tulane ASAP an...

Does anyone know how long it takes on average to get a license by endorsement in Louisiana? I would have filled out the temporary permit but it requires an address and I won't have an address until I work in LA as an RN.

I lived in NY all my life. The RN salaries are great here, I make about 68K a year. I will be getting almost 20K less by moving to LA but supposedly the cost of living is less there. I just want a change and really liked the New Orleans area.

No fair keeping secrets, I was looking into working at Tulane in New Orleans. I have an interview coming up and will probably relocate there. Any tips/suggestions?
I did it! I graduated 12/06, got a job as an RN in 2/07 and today I bought myself a brand new car! It's the best thing (other than going to nursing school) I ever did for myself.
I was hired as a new grad on permit to Coney Island Hospital in Feb of this year. (Brooklyn, NY) Salary for day shift is $61,527 a year. I have no dependants so taxes take over 33% of my salary.
My FINAL final is on Dec 11. My pinning ceremony is Dec 18, 2006. Unfortunately, we don't "officially" graduate until Jan 31, 2007. I'm going to my pinning ceremony then into a cave to study for the NCLEX. I'm already sending out my resume to local ...

Some nursing friends have just graduated this June with an ASN. One has already been offered a job at Sloan Kettering. 12 hour day shift. 62 K. She will have another nurse shadow her for the first 3 months. They choose the floor she works on the firs...
I am very happy you got out of that situation. I used to work in a private office (for 6 years) until it merged with a clinic (1 year). That was the worst. The staff that came with the clinical physicians had the same attitudes. (taking long lunch br...
Still a nursing student but keep in touch with some grads. Maimonides hired 3 recent grads for the night shift. Starting salary for AAS was 62,000. 12 hour shifts. Dont know the ratios though.
