Thanks for all the input! Sadly there are no open OR positions in my area open to new grads right now so I wanted to start with floor nursing to gain that one or two years of experience of acute care. I'm still on the fence of which area to lean towa...
I'm a new graduate and have the option between a telemetry floor or a med/surg floor. I ultimately want be work in the OR but I don't know which one of the units would be the better stepping stone. I don't which way to lean because the med/surg floor...

seriously this nursing shortage is a joke! sometimes i wish i majored in something else other than nursing. how is anyone of us supposed to get that experience if no one is willing to hire us? and this economy does not help the situation either. ughh...
I am a potential hire for a cardiac hospital, for the med/surg telemetry unit. I am somewhat of a new grad and never had any experience with the telemetry unit. From what I am hearing, it seems to be a whole lot of stress. I hear the ratio on this pa...
