  1. SRNA wife about to loose it......

Personally, I think you want an awful lot and aren't willing to make many sacrifices. 15 months? Hardly no time at all. Put it in perspective and suck it up! But, it doesn't much sound like you will, so you may as well go ahead and take out loans...
  2. Dismissed from the Nursing Program

Good for you for not giving up! Although it may feel foolish to have to take the nursing classes again, just remember that it won't hurt you in any way. Bythe time you are done, you will have an excellent grasp of the material and anything worth h...
  3. soooo...anyway....

My goal is PICU at a regional Children's Hospital, even though it will mean an 80 mile commute. I also plan to go over to Africa for two years after I have experience under my belt. I haven't had my Peds rotation yet. I do that this fall and I am ...
  4. Nursing students and abuse

I have never witnessed any abuse. My clinical instructor last semester was awesome, very supportive yet did not hover. I was so happy because I hate to be scrutinized, it turns me into a ball of mush. There was another clinical instructor though wh...
  5. u know there is a "pre-nursing student forum

Never once have the nurses on the General Board directed me to the Student Board and I'm grateful. This here pond is big enough for all the fishes and if some of them venture out of the shallow end, so what! kirbi
  6. Another class or not

Since you are only working part-time, I am sure it can be done without too much difficulty. You will need to work hard. A&P2 is a lot of work. Algebra,,, well, I thought Algebra was a fun class but not everyone thinks so. The health class sou...

Congratulations! First semester ended a few weeks ago and I am happy to be taking it easy just working 40 hours a week this summer. I DO plan to celebrate though, I am taking a 10 day vacation to go camping in June. YAY! Nursing school was nothi...
  8. I studied about 4 hours a day during the week and all day long on the weekends. When I study all day long, I divide up the study sessions into two hour time chunks and I do something different for about half an hour in between, plus I would make sur...
  9. just got accepted! very worried about...

Oh! Taping the lectures got me through Micro, and a B to boot! I had a really difficult time with that class. I did great in the Lab, but I had to work at the tests. Don't know what I would've done without my recorder. Nursing school is a litt...
  10. just got accepted! very worried about...

In my class, we did not have a chance to review any Micro... we did a little review of A&P, but mostly you are expected to know the material. As it had been 7 years since my A&P, I bought the Anatomy and Physiology Coloring Books to brush up ...
  11. Worried about recieving C in a&p.....

My school used a point system too, but it was sort of based on GPA. They gave you so many points for each A, B, or C you had in your pre-req's. Then, you also had to have a certain GPA in your science pre-req's and another GPA for the non-science p...
  12. We had 80 students at the beginning of last semester (first). We lost three due to grades (need to have a 76%) and three due to personal reasons, so we are sitting at 74 now. So, I guess we've done pretty good! 4% failed 4% quit 92.5% of class sti...
  13. Semester almost over!!!

YAY! Semester 1 ended on Wednesday. I can't believe I MADE IT! Cheers to everyone, especially those of you who graduate in May!!! :balloons: kirbi
  14. YAY!:balloons: I will gladly join the party! Finished first semester last week. Ended up with B's, which I still have to learn to accept, but hey! B's are GOOD too. CONGRATULATIONS to everyone who has or is finishing up the semester! kirbi
  15. Just Found Out I Failed

If you do decide to drop the class, do it early in the semester. Some schools allow you to "drop" the class early with no penalty, but if you wait you have to take a "withdrawal" which can be a very bad thing when trying to get into nursing school. ...
