  1. Do you think some people just "dont have what it takes"

Completely agree with that statement, I'd much rather someone tell me what they think TO MY FACE, directly. A "lost art".... :roll

  3. Do you think some people just "dont have what it takes"

That strikes me as extremely inappropriate. I think there's more to this story....
  4. CNA's in control

I'd wager this isn't an isolated incident. I'd ALSO wager that, if the RN writes her up or otherwise attempts to discipline her in any way that the Unit Manager will take the nurse aide's "side."
  5. WHY are nurses so catty??

Absolutely agree......I've worked in several different hospitals and other situations as a RN and it is true.......

I wear support stockings, started when I went to twelve-hour shifts. I wear the kind that have graduated compression. I think all nurses should wear them, to head off any circulation problems that could develop from being on your feet so long.......
  8. Evil People

Kudos to you, Happy ER RN, for not knocking the dragon's block off! It's a damned shame we can't just call security or some other designated personnel to deal with the crazies, which are legion. There are more NUTTY patients (and family members!) o...
  9. WORST NIGHT EVER!!! Will it ever end????

Sounds like hell. Talk to your Unit Mgr, tell her you're goin' nutz and need a BREAK. They need to stop dumping on you. Talk to her and if you don't get satisfied, start looking for another job, they're plenty of them out there!
  10. HELP!! Railroaded by co-worker!!

If it is her word against yours, I wouldn't worry too much. In fact, it may be a good thing. Use this as an opportunity to bring this entire situation to your Unit Manager's attention. Tell them your entire story of how this person has targete...
  11. Mental Break or Mental BreakDOWN

Just a few thoughts: Are you making full use of your nurse aides? Are you letting others know when you feel swamped? The other nurses have evidently noticed that you have been having a lot of difficult patients. Talk to your unit manager. Tell her h...
  12. insulin med error

Med errors are much more common than anyone will admit, you did the right thing, learn from it and go on.... We have to co-sign all insulins where I work.
  13. New and frustrated; ready to quit!

Don't forget the old "it wasn't a good fit" explanation.............
  14. Sick and Tired of my Job!!!!!

Two LPNs And one RN for >100 residents?!? Get out ASAP!
  15. Advice please!!!

If you have a pulse and respirations, you're a shoe-in. LOL Honestly, some of the people who get hired as CNAs...well...:chair: It sounds like you already have the necessary "qualifications", i.e., desire to BE a CNA, to learn, etc. Your enthusiasm ...
