  1. Find Your Place in the COVID Vaccine Line

I'm somewhere in the middle of the line. The state doesn't consider corrections nurses to be front line HCP's, so I selected essential worker(even though we have alot of people in or covid pod now). Had a few co-workers die from it, and multiple inma...
  2. Funny things your patients have said

I had an ex-psych nurse with dementia screaming "Thorazine" and "Haldol" as she played piano, I laughed so hard.
  3. Every other weekend & holidays??

When I was a CNA, at the facility I used to work at, we fought over working weekends and holidays. The differential for working weekends was $3 plus $1 for working 11-7 I was making almost $20 as a CNA., and triple time for holidays. We had a good un...

  9. Sliding Scale Novolog Question

So he didn't get any coverage for his meal then? That's why these sliding scales aren't any good, because you cant do anything until after the fact. They're discouraged by the ADA http://spectrum.diabetesjournals.org/content/16/2/68.full

I'd rather be wiping butt than kissing butt!
  11. Can my job be taken away from me?

Unfortunately, you need to work a year full time before you qualify for FMLA(which covers maternity leave). The company might go above and beyond and give you the leave, though. Check with HR.
  12. I wanna be a cop:D
  13. Fired from my med/surg job after almost 3 years

Sounds more like a back door layoff so they don't have to pay severance or make their unemployment tax go up. Don't give them a resignation letter if you're planning on collecting unemployment.
  14. "Right to Sit"

Did she ask if she could have some sweets on her and they said no? Sounds like grounds for a discrimination lawsuit. She wasn't reasonably accommodated under the ADA law. This is life or death stuff. She could end up making a med error when her sugar...
  15. I was hired before I was finished school or certified. In NJ you can work 120 days without your certification.
