I have just found out that i will be working on an intermediate care unit for my externship this summer.
What sorts of things should I be prepared to see? I want to make sure I am as prepared as I can be when I get there, and i'm not exaclty sure what the IMCu entails. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks so much!
I'm in school in VA, going for my RN. Our 3rd year we are able to give all IVP meds, including narcs as long as our professor is there and the nurse we are working with is comfotable with it.
I am in my junior year of nursing school and am looking to find an externship program for this summer. I would like to be able to do so in the MD/ Northern VA area. I am in need of a summer job and want something that is going to help me better develop my skills, so an externship seemed to be the way to go.
So here is my question: Have any of you done an externship in this area, or know of one that may be good? Any input would be great.
I've been feeling pretty burned out lately. Between clinical, classes and all the work that goes with, i'm tired of trying. I guess i'm just in a rut.
What are some things you do to get back into the groove of things?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Congrats to you!
Marie- I'm glad you chose to be so cheerful about this
