  1. As a graduate from BSHP, I would STRONGLY advise you look into one of the Alamo colleges to complete your Algebra class. Quite frankly, it's much less expensive, and they offer online courses. Hope this helps! Good luck to you! Foomey, RN
  2. What do you pack in your lunch box?

I'm not yet a nurse, but between work and school, I've become a pro at packed lunches/dinners. #1) I'll always make plenty of salad for dinner, and take the leftovers for lunch. A nice side of dressing made from balsamic vinegar, a little olive oil,...
  3. anyone take chemistry without college algebra and do good

I wouldn't recommend taking Chemistry online. That's just my 2 cents, but I believe science courses should be taken in a live classroom setting. The math isn't difficult, but it also depends upon your comfort levels, as well as simply "getting" the c...
  4. If you only plan on taking the two courses, I say go for it! I took A&P I and Chemistry, as well as two other non-science courses, and managed to pull out a 4.0. If you have excellent study skills, you'll do just fine. I'm in Micro now, and find ...
  5. Best shoes for plus size women

I wear Alegrias for my job at Starbucks, and I love them! I'm planning on buying a white pair for nursing school.
  6. End of Pre-Reqs, laziness

I'm feeling the same way, but I've already been accepted to a nursing program for Spring 2011. I'm on track for A's, too, and I often tell myself that it'll be so rewarding to finish up with a 3.98 GPA. Admittedly, I've slacked a couple of assignmen...
  7. Discouraged....

I'm not a mother, but I felt scatterbrained when I was in A&P, as well. A good friend of mine suggested that I purchased A&P coloring books. They helped me so much! You can purchase them on Amazon.com. They focus on specific areas of the bo...
  8. Please don't judge me...I need advice please.

In addition to all of the excellent suggestions, I would strongly suggest getting a few letters of recommendation from current professors. And, an essay couldn't hurt. Being able to "explain" a situation certainly will shed some light if erasing yo...
  9. Macaroni & Cheese

    That's hysterical!
  10. Baptist Nursing school Spring 2011

The list is actually made earlier in the year, and new editions come out regularly.
  11. Baptist Nursing school Spring 2011

I would wait to purchase any books. Science fields tend to change, yearly, and you don't want to spend money on a book that will be out of date. I'm sure they'll have the list on the 9th of November.
  12. I do work at Starbucks, and have their insurance. It's not super cheap, but they do offer a couple of choices in most states. You're only required to work an average of 20 hours per week to qualify. I'm 39 years old, and also have my BA, but I happe...
  13. I, too, was accepted into Baptist's program on Wednesday! Can't wait to begin! Good luck to everyone!
