In response to your question about GCU, I am more than half way through the program, and have had no major problems. I am doing my entire program on line, and the only real problem I have had is in one of the earlier classes and group work. It was more of a classmate problem than a school problem. One of the people in my group did not contribute very much, adding more work for the rest of us. Otherwise, I have been very happy with the program. I work full time, and take one class at a time (5 week, 3 credit classes). Hope this helps! Good luck
Kind of a crazy question here. Just wondering how your unit cleans bedsides when an infant is either moved to another bed spot, or is discharged. Also, who is responsible for doing this? In regards to isolettes and cribs, who does this cleaning? Just taking a look at our currently policy and thinking of making some changes, so any positive or negative feedback would be very much appreciated. Thanks!
Our unit currently has a set block schedule, and are looking to possibly go to self scheduling. Just wondering what units that take call do with an ever changing schedule. Any info/comments about signing up for call/self scheduling would be great! Thanks =)
Just wondering if anyone can help me out. I just took the NICU exam (paper version). I know they say it takes six weeks to get results. Just wondering does it really take the whole six weeks? It has only been a few days, and am already going crazy..hahaha. Any help would be great!
I am wondering if any other units have the same issue our unit is having. We use a closed system for our UAC's, and when drawing gases, we have been getting diluted samples, despite drawing back to the syringe. We are now having to draw off an additional "waste" just to get an accurate sample. Just wondering what other units have encountered, and how they have over come them. Also, if anyone "loves" the system they are using, if you could include that in your reply, that would be great....always looking for new products that work great =) Thanks for your time!
Hi everyone, just wanted to throw out a question. We are a unit that had everyone working 12 hour shifts, either 7a or 7p. We have just added an additional 12 hour 3a and a 3p shift to our rotation, and now are encountering some low census issues. We are having the problem of how to low census fairly. Just wondering if people could share their units way of doing low census. The problem we are having, is the overlap of the 3a or 3p person...for example, should the person who was low censused at 7p have to come in at 3am because it is the 3a's persons "turn" to be off. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
