92-100=A 86-91=B 80-85=C 0-79.999999999999=F Clinical is pass/fail. Dosage/calculation test must be passed with 100%, 3 tries. Any bonus points or extra credit is null and void unless you have an 80% or higher. Meaning, if you have a 79.999999999999%...
Try 60%! That's right, we lose about 60% from begining to end. Honestly, I thought all grading scales were like ours. WooHoo on your 86% !! That's awesome!
4 semester we pick up another clinical day. For now, one day a week is enough! LOL Seriously, we work our butts off, we're usually assigned 2-4 patients. I'd LOVE to be a nurse on that floor. On our clincial days, the nurses just sit around and gab b...
When I first got into the nursing program, my goal was to get all A's. Now I just want to pass. As far as I know, a couple (and I do mean a COUPLE) of people have had all A's.

Amen sister! I work 24-32 hours per week, take 2 nursing classes (although last semester I took 4), and have two kiddos. Next fall I'm taking 15 credit hours. It's possible, but stressful.
Our whole grading system is weird. I think It'd make just as much sense if they just lined up Bozo buckets and tossed in balls with percentage points written on them. We get a slew of tests worth 100 pts each, except for the dosage and calculation te...
Oh definitely! My clinical group has joked that we should be given blow darts loaded with Prozac to shoot at uptight clincal instructors who are over-the-top uptight.
I don't work full time, but I do work and have a husband and kids. I'm a CNA in a LTC facility. Since they're open 24/7, it's easier to get my hours in and still have time for school. Of course, time for sleep is another story...LOL
What an appropriate thread, as I am currently considering exchanging my CNA position for a nurse extern position. The pay rate is $13.90 with no benefits, just lots of experience. I look forward to reading the replies!
