  1. Grades Don't Matter Much?

    i graduated salutatorian (is that spelled right? lol) of my nursing class....employers don't ask you what your GPA was in job interviews. grades don't always equal compatency. but in my case it did...lol;)
  2. PA LPN's now permitted to accept verbal orders.

    That policy is for that hospital only.....the others around here don't require that. My LPN course was 11 1/2 mths....first 3 months was classroom only...then last 8 mths was 2 days in classroom and 3 days in clinicals.

    I work in a ob/gyn clinic with 8 physicans and 2 np. each physican has their own LPN that works directly with them in the office. Then they have an ORT that goes with them to surgery. We have MA's that rotate around and help the LPN with their doct...

    i think the reason there is a shortage is the nurse/patient ratio. i work in a ob/gyn clinic now fulltime and i also work at the hospital as a pulmonary nurse...we have a 6:1 ratio and we are a progressive care unit with all our patients on telemetr...
