  1. Working as a stripper AND a nurse

I am 100% for this and encourage all new female nurses to take it up for extra cash. I would even volunteer to watch and critique them so they can better their craft.
  2. Some thoughts from a new nursing student

If I'm being honest, you've entered the world of women. All your past jobs seems like they would be predominately men or a good mix. In nursing, its 92% women. You put all that estrogen in one space and it can get explosive. It almost hearkens ba...
  3. tips on how to survive 12 hr shifts.

I've found that chugging cans of Red Bull helps. Stimulants also help me, like No-Doz or things with epinephrine like those diet pills to give me my edge back.
  4. Verbally Abusive Patients!

As a RN who happens to be male, I sometimes get very discouraged with the public's image of male nurses. I work in a crazy busy ER with alot of, well lets be honest, scum and addicts come in for free shelter, food, drugs, etc. I seem to get the pts....
  5. Referring to CMA's as nurses

I'd be highly offended if someone thought i was a MA. They have their place in the system for sure, but their education is absolutely not comparable to mine.
  6. PA vs. RN

Read up on my post. The OP was asking the difference between a RN and PA. I never said in my post that a NP only needs an associates.
  7. I'm just, disgusted........whatever.

You are your own worst enemy. You probably did better than you thought. At the very lest, you're a relatively young man. You could have batted your eyelashes at the (presumed) female interviewer. At the very least wore tight pants. Works every t...
  8. PA vs. RN

You can become a RN with an associates degree. A PA is almost always a masters program. Thats probably the biggest reason! NPs and PAs are similarly paid, with PAs making slightly more. However, PAs make significantly more $ than most RNs.
  9. I hate nurses, what should I do?

I've had these same experiences. And it always seems to be the same female nurses who are downright witchy with me -- the tired, overweight, haggard, jaded ones. They are miserable with their life and will do anything and all they can to make sure ...
  10. How do LPNs View themselves?

Hey I was just wondering something, guys. Do you feel the role of LPNs/LVNs is to assist the RN in duties and help them out in any way you can, or do you feel more like an independent entity?
  11. An Associates Degree Isn't A Real Nursing Degree...Vent!!

Obviously, an associates degree is a "degree". However most people do look down on this as some vocational certificate or something. I've found that bachelors prepared nurses get much more respect from everyone.
  12. I have a Question for you Male Nurses out there.

Yeah he should probably wait before making a complaint. Ive seen this "type" of instructor a thousand times. Usually some dried up old bitty who can't attract a man anymore so takes it out on every one she sees.
  13. CRNAs Looking Down on NPs

Honestly, I am applying to CRNA school and couldnt imagine going through all the drama for the salaries of some NPs. I wanna make bank, and I fully intend to celebrate with a new BMW when I'm done!
  14. Rude Resident Physician!!

I just smile and kill him with kindness. No use trying to fight the docs...in the hospital setting they are the final word. Nurses are completely dispensable.
  15. I love nursing but hate NP school

I think if you like science you should definitely go to med school. I got so tired of the nonsense nursing theory that was always pushed down our throats. I want to treat the disease, not the response to disease!
