  2. How are fellow second coursers doing in other schools?

    i am interested in taking up nursing as a second courser in the philippines. Your experiences here helped me to see what should i expect when i go back to school. Any schools that you would recommend?
  3. How many hours would you work?

    I would work 32 hours per week: 8 hrs to make ends meet; another 8 hrs for extra bills/ misc and; extra 8 hrs for savings. 32 hours would be ideal and awesome! Not like how i work right now -52 hours/week!

    i worked at an assisted living facility as a receptionist, full time-night shift (40hrs/wk).. the pay was $9/hr. but it was ok though, since i have time to read my books and do my assignments when not busy (ie 9p onwards)

    i am aware that BSN in the philippines is now 5 years.. And even here in US, based on my inquiries -it will also take me 5 years to take my BSN (with a lot of student loans) if i take it in community colleges since i havent even taken any of the nurs...

    Thanks so much! I will keep this in mind.. As to passing the NCLEX --i have seen a lot of nurses who graduated in the Philippines that passed the NCLEX the first time.. but some also didnt make it the first time. So i think it all depends.:typing

    i am probably confused. Lol. When i said student visa, i was actually talking about the reentry permit --which would allow me to stay outside US for two years, but not affecting my permanent residency. thank you for the clarification.
