2. Is a backboard for transport only, or immobilization while in the ER?

   Backboarding stays until the patient is cleared. This may be based on the docs assessment, or xrays ordered.

3. Ratios? Do you have them in ER, or are they just for the floors?

   We dont have ratios. I work in a small ED, where we assign rooms/bays, but we don't really stick to that, everyone pitches in on each others patients. There may be a patient in one of my rooms that I might never even see, depending on whats going on....
